 Goals

• Provide direct human services to needy individuals from diverse racial and ethnic groups with a focus on Hispanics and minorities

• Conduct research and publish reports on social policy issues

• Become a pioneer and innovator in alternative education, child care, and affordable housing

• Be an active partner in the national Hispanic movement and establish alliances and partnerships with other organizations and diverse racial and ethnic group

 

Overall Capabilities

•     Direct services to more than 5,000 persons every year

•     More than thirty years of experience in planning, negotiating and implementing grants and contracts with federal, state and local government agencies, as well as with major U.S. corporations and charitable foundations

•     Fully bilingual services (English/Spanish), oral and written, including technical    materials

•     Communications systems including internet, web-page, e-mail, and audio/visual presentations

•     Offices in Miami, FL, Orlando, FL, Washington, DC and Union City, NJ

 

Record of Achievement – 1972-2007

•         37,976 direct job placements

•         4,400 new jobs created

•        350 leaders trained

•        More than 4,225 at-risk students remaining in school

•        85 internships awarded to needy students

•        More than 60 policy publications, including books and issue papers

•       13 national conferences

•       Built new housing units for 1,700 persons of low and moderate income

•       Coordination and support services for 30,000 Cuban and Haitian refugees at the U.S.   Naval Base in Guantanamo, Cuba
