In 1981, CNC caused the founding of CODEC, a related community development corporation, with the mission of developing housing for low-and moderate-income families.

In just over two decades, CODEC has become one of the top non-profit developers of 202 housing projects for low-income seniors in the United States.

CODEC’s impressive development record includes 1,900 senior housing apartments in seven buildings managed by CNC’s related organization, CNC Management.  In addition, CODEC built 150 condominiums that were sold to working families in Miami-Dade County, and provided technical assistance to other non-profits in the United States.
