Alpha Charter of Excellence Schools

CNC is proud to announce the OPEN BID process beginning today and the “REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS” (RFP) release by Alpha Charter of Excellence “ACE”.  The RFP is for the comprehensive management services of two schools; one in Miami-Dade and one in Broward County.  The proposals are due by COB on Friday, November 4, 2011.  If you are interested in submitting a full proposal, please click here for instructions and additional information.

CNC Health, Safety and Wellness Fair

The CNC Health, Safety & Wellness Fair serves the health-related needs of the underserved Hispanic and the immigrant communities of Miami.  The Hispanic community is the most under insured ethnic community in Miami-Dade County.

The CNC fair takes place at Douglas Park located at 2755 S.W. 37th Avenue, Miami, Florida from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.  Over 900 community residents attend the fair every year.

The fair features distinguished health care experts from both the local and national levels who participate as speakers together with many local hospitals, health care providers, and health organizations.

The Health Fair offers health screenings/exams and presentations free and open to the public.

2011 Hispanic Leadership Celebration

Next Wednesday, March 9th, 2011 CNC will hold its 8th Hispanic Leadership Celebration honoring distinguished national leaders.

This year’s honorees will be Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, Chairwoman of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, U.S. Congress; and Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz from the 20th Congressional District in Florida.

The awards ceremony and following reception will be held in Washington, D.C. at the Library of Congress Montpellier Room on Wednesday, March 9th, 2011 from 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.  This event is free and open to the public.

Leadership Development Program

At an exsact date to be determined during the month of September CNC will hold its second Leadership Development Program which aims to provide comprehensive leadership skills to college students and young adults with a demonstrated interest in community involvement. For the second consecutive year, in partnership with MillerCoors, the LDP will consist of three panel sessions composed of government officials, media specialists, fundraising executives and local leaders. Participants will have the opportunity to develop and exercise their leadership and communications skills, as well as gain a greater understanding of the issues affecting various community groups in the Greater Miami area.

Hispanic Leadership Celebration

This annual event honors and recognizes distinguished national and regional leaders.  The Hispanic Leadership Celebration gathers over 300 national leaders, organizations, and guests who join the Council to network during the event held every year in Washington, D.C.

Previous award recipients include the Hon. Grace F. Napolitano, Congresswoman, 38th District, U.S. House of Representatives; Hon. Anna Escobedo Cabral, Treasurer of the United States; Hon. Albio Sires, Congressman, 13th District, U. S, House of Representatives; U.S. Senator Bob Menendez, Chairman, Democratic Caucus; U.S. Senator Mel Martinez and Congresswoman Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.
