Latino Technology Network (LTN)
Funded
by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Latino Technology
Network (LTN) is a project of the
Association for the Advancement of Mexican Americans (AAMA),
and 12 community based organizations (Alliance Partners)
including the Cuban American National Council, Inc.(CNC). LTN
provides an information infrastructure that facilitates
information sharing, web hosting, education, health and
public policy awareness and promotes cooperative efforts
of groups providing vital services to Hispanic
communities.
The LTN project will institute two innovative
demonstration projects to perform research in conquering
the "Digital Divide" by educating at-risk inner-city
Hispanic students to perform sophisticated Web-page
design and maintenance, support and installation of the
LTN Network Operation Center based in Houston, Texas.
Through the LTN project, the Community Training Centers
(CTC) will greatly enhance the ability of all citizens
to access information addressing a wide variety of
critical needs, including education, health and human
services, child care, employment, anti-gang initiatives,
housing, legislative, local and national community news,
public service announcements and much more.
